One Sweet Ride

July 15, 2016

Washington County could be considered “hallowed ground” to Texans whose love and reverence for our state stem from the larger-than-life figures whose deeds and sacrifices paved the way for independence from Mexico in 1836. From the early days as a republic, to statehood nine years later, through a bloody civil war, and every armed conflict since, sons and daughters of Texas have never withheld their finest efforts to defend, build, and improve our state. Visitors to Washington County will be unable to throw a stone in any direction without hitting something historical, cultural, beautifully scenic, or all three. Brenham and the surrounding communities are all worthy destinations in their own right, but their proximity to one another makes any visit to Washington County both convenient and memorable.
