This past Saturday, Lu and I visited the Wimberley Valley Winery and Lone Man Mountain Brewing Co., a destination we had been eagerly anticipating. The winery and brewery share a building, located in the scenic Texas Hill Country just outside Driftwood, Texas. Both are family-owned and operated by Dean Valentine.
Founded in 2006, Wimberley Valley Winery has built a reputation for its outstanding Texas wines. The winery sources its grapes from local vineyards. Committed to sustainability and quality, Wimberley Valley’s process unveils the character of Texas grapes, highlighting their unique qualities and the region’s distinct terroir.
Among its diverse selection of wines, the Viognier stands out as a highlight. This white wine is celebrated for its crisp profile, offering vibrant citrus and floral notes that appeal to a wide range of palates. For those who prefer red wines, the Tempranillo provides a robust experience, combining bold flavors of dark fruit and spice.

Additionally, the Patersbier secured the Gold Winner title at the Texas Craft Brewers Cup in 2023, and the brewery’s Belgian Amber earned a Bronze Winner award at the Great American Beer Festival in the same year.
Beyond the brews, guests visiting the property enjoy stunning vistas of rolling hills and 30 acres of lush grounds.
