Of ghosts and towns
Although Nix, Texas is considered a ghost town, it’s in a much better state of repair than most towns which carry this description. It’s a time capsule of a gas station from another era.
Perhaps it’s best feature as far as motorcycle riders are concerned is that it’s located on the rather spectacular FM 580, which is a sweet, twisty back road between San Saba and Lampasas, in the Hill Country.
Eat, then run
Lampasas is a great place to stop for a Storm’s hamburger. The burgers here were voted to our Top 10 BEST IN TEXAS Readers Choice Awards.
