Top 10 Wildflower Roads

Number 3 in our Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Wildflower Road in Texas is Texas Highway 16, which runs from Antelope near Texas’ border with Oklahoma, south to Zapata, near the border with Mexico. TX 16 is a big stretch of road, and one of Texas’s best back roads, no doubt, but the section voted best for wildflower hunters is the one between Markley and Boerne.

Every card-carrying Texan should ride TX 16 all way from top to bottom (or bottom to top) before  hanging up his or her spurs. It’s the law…
