Washington County is not only the birthplace of Texas, but also an excellent wildflower roads destination.

Our Annual BEST IN TEXAS Readers’ Choice Poll included the category for readers/riders to vote for their favorite wildflower road. We complied readers’ responses into a TOP 10 list of the best wildflower roads in Texas, and we’re counting them down in anticipation of spring’s long-awaited arrival. Okay, not really too long, but you get the idea.

TX 105 between Brenham and Navasota is number 6. Washington County, the birthplace of Texas, has scenic twisty roads and some of the best wildflower viewing in the state.  And, it’s conveniently located from the major metro areas.
