Spring Rites/Rides

It’s time to shake off the old and the cold and roll into the sheen green of spring. Yippee-kay-yay! This edition includes 10 maps including 4 amazing rides to some of Texas most historic and beautiful courthouses.

We also have a little fun with Texas’ propensity to create quirky landmarks. I mean how many other states have not one, but two Stonehenge replicas? Texas has one more than England, so we win.

Shots and shouts from battles waged once rang out in the area around Spanish Fort, now you can find some pretty good twisty roads and you can ride and imagine the dramas must have played out here. And, it’s pretty darn close to the MetroPlex.

The Motorcycle Cannonball is a 4,000-mile cross-country ride for pre-1930 motorcycles. What could possibly go wrong? This is the story of how Texan, Mike Bell built a 1923 Harley-Davidson J-model from a basket of parts and rode the run.
