Most riders have quietly accepted the fact the cell phone drivers are just another road hazard out to kill you when you ride.  The small voice of riders and other people who want to be safe on the road  can’t prevail against telecommunication industry lobbyists. But maybe Oprah can?

The pledge is a count of people who agree not to talk and drive. It’s not too meaty, but it’s Oprah and she brings a spotlight to issues that is nearly unmatched. Can she mobilize public opinion to look at cell phone driving in a different way? If you care about this, be counted.

Sign the pledge – it sure can’t hurt.
