TxDOT is planning to open up a new line of communication between I-35 and its users. Work is underway on one component of the agency’s Intelligent Transportation System that will provide I-35 motorists with real-time information, including construction updates, potential travel delays and alternate routes. An article about the project, entitled “The smartest road ever,” is in the current issue of Thinking Highways magazine and was researched and written by Gretchen Stoeltje, program specialist with TxDOT’s Office of Strategic Policy and Performance Management.
