It’s about the love

Bikers, riders, motorcyclists, whichever you choose to call those who love motorized transport on two wheels, have proven themselves to be among those with the biggest hearts. Tough and tattooed, sure, but also warm and fuzzy on the inside.  Seriously, there’s data, and it suggests Texans are among the most  giving.

Texas #1

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation just released its 2011 Ride for Kids national events wrap-up.  The 2011 events raised over $4.5 million dollars. Real money that funds important programs, like scholarships and research.

There are RFK events in 40 cities across the United States. Although Texas has just 2 events, the top fundraiser in every category  is Texan. Stated another way: fifty states, and Texas is number one in all categories!

Top dealership fundraiser nationwide: $221,427 Northwest Honda of Houston

Top club fundraiser nationwide: $82,932 Gold Wing Road Riders Association TX-C

Top individual fundraiser nationwide: $53,302 Texan, Sam Caine

Members of GWRRA TX-C brought in over $82,000 in donations for the Ride for Kids in 2011, making them the top fundraising chapter.
