The calendar is a service to readers, riding clubs, charity fund raisers, event organizers and RTM sponsors.

 

IMPORTANT: After submitting your event, you'll be sent a VERIFICATION e-mail. You must click the VERIFICATION link in the e-mail. If you don't your event cannot be added to the calendar.

Submission Policy

When you press submit, you are agreeing to these terms

 

1. Your non-profit, club or charity event will be added when you fill in the information below and press submit. All events are reviewed and you may be contacted to verify charity status. Charity events must donate 50% or more of the total (not "net proceeds") money raised to charity to qualify for a free listing. Club events are those events not held for commercial purposes.

2. For profit events we'll contact you to make payment arrangements using PayPal for getting your listing published with minumim lag time.

3. For liability reasons, the editors can not make changes to the events. If you make a mistake in your posting, please send an e-mail to the editors (no calls, please) and we'll delete your post and you can re-enter the correct information. There will be a several day turnaround, so please use care when entering your information.

4. This is a free service. RTM is not responsible for the listing contents, information or representations made be you or damages you or others may incur due to your listing, mistakes in your listing or any consequences of being, or not being listed.

1 How does this work?

a. SUBMIT: Complete the form and click submit. You'll either get a confirmation screen or an error will be flagged on the form.
b. VERIFY E-MAIL: We will send a VERIFICATION e-mail to the address you entered for "VERIFICATION e-mail address" on the form. YOU MUST CLICK THE LINK IN THE VERIFICATION E-MAIL OR YOUR EVENT WILL NOT BE ADDED TO THE CALENDAR no matter how many times you submit the event.
c. REVIEW: Once you click on the VERIFICATION e-mail link, we will review the event posting and publish it to the calendar.
d. BONUS: If you post in far enough in advance of the event (2+ months ahead), your event will be included in the print issue on a space-available basis.

 

2 I entered my event, but it didn't show up on the calendar.

a.NON-WORKING VERIFICATION E-MAIL ADDRESS: Please check your spam box and see if the verification e-mail is there. If not, please make sure you have a working VERFICATION e-mail address and re-submit the event. YOU MUST CLICK THE LINK IN THE VERIFICATION E-MAIL OR YOUR EVENT WILL NOT BE ADDED TO THE CALENDAR.

b. FOR-PROFIT EVENT: The calendar listings are free for club, charity, and non-profit events, For-profit events can be listed in the calendar for a $50 listing fee. This is not time limited. So it's $50 whether you enter the event 6 months before or 2 weeks before. It makes sense to event as early as possible for maximum exposure. This is the best promotional value out there for event organizers.

c. CURRENT SPONSOR means your firm has a current, active relationship with RT.

 

3 What happened to the website link I entered?

The most common error in event calendar submissions is an invalid website link. The bad website is automatically stripped out, but the phone number and e-mail contact information will give readers a way to get in touch. The second most common problem is when there's nothing about the event on the website entered. In that case, the link will be stripped out as well. 4 How long will it take my event to show up on the calendar?

You should receive your VERIFICATION e-mail within 24 hours. Once you confirm the e-mail we will review the event and will publish it online usually within 24 hours (if it meets the criteria). YOU MUST CLICK THE LINK IN THE VERIFICATION E-MAIL OR YOUR EVENT WILL NOT BE ADDED TO THE CALENDAR.

 

5 How do I get my event published in the calendar of the print version of the magazine?

RT publishes a seasonal events spotlight in each quarterly bookazine. The ridetexas.com website calendar is the resource where riders get details about the latest events, updated daily.

 

6 Do I really have to place a reciprocal link to ridetexas.com on my event website?

If you have a links a page on your website and you check "no" here, there's good chance our system will strip out your website link. If you have a links a page on your website and you check "yes" here but there's no ridetexas.com link on your website, there's good chance our system will strip out your website link here. Not always, but likely. The phone number and e-mail contact information will give readers a way to get in touch.

 

7 My event is sponsored by another motorcycle magazine or website, can I list it here?

Please contact your event sponsor for their promotional plans.

8 I have a great for-profit event. Can I use RTM to promote my event free of charge?

For-profit events, or those promoting a business, should contact advertising for retail listing rates. Current advertisers with RTM (accounts in good standing) are entitled to list their events as a bonus for being sponsors and supporters of Texas motorcycling via RTM.

 

9 Will you send someone to do an article about my event?

Sorry, but we can't. The demand for coverage far exceeds the supply of pages and writers to write them, so we've opted to provide a very rich event calendar/promotional system, online and in print. Your event listed in RTM is in the most visible, best read motorcycling resource about Texas. That has to be a good thing.

 

10 Someone said you're looking for event photos. Is it true?

We invite event organizers to e-mail us G-rated digital photos of their events for use in the EVENTS CALENDAR in the print magazine and online. Please include the event name, date and the name of the photographer. You agree that for photos you submit that you have the right to give us permission to publish the photo and the photo does not violate any copyrights. E-mail events photos to .
