We’re back with another super road that’s close enough to the DFW MetroPlex for a day trip. FM 4 (no relation whatsoever to Park Road 4, BTW), between Granbury and Jacksboro, is a beautiful twisty road that zig-zags along among gently rolling hills and wooded stream crossings. Very nice. FM 4 has been voted our BEST IN TEXAS Readers’ Choice Poll favorite North Texas road quite a few times. If you’re looking for a swim, Possum Kingdom Lake State Park is in the area. It’s a great stop for hiking and swimming.

Just GO!
