TxDOT announces End-of-Queue Warning System for construction zones

Making its debut along a Central Texas stretch of IH 35, the End-of-Queue Warning System uses sensors to measure the speeds of approaching vehicles and then warns drivers through electronic signs and temporary rumble strips.

Recall: On certain 2013 BMW R1200 GS the front fork tube may loosen

BMW is recalling certain model year 2013 R1200 GS motorcycles manufactured January 9, 2013, through February 8, 2013. Due to an insufficient torque of a locking bolt, the front fork tube may loosen.

Wildflower hunters’ resource: TxDOT Interactive Wildflower Map

As you may have noticed, TxDOT is adding online tools and widgets to help motorists avoid traffic, know where traffic cameras are tucked away, etcetera. Well, now they have launched a nifty interactive widget that indicates where wildflowers are blooming.

There has been a trifecta of recalls affecting Can-AM Spyders, BMW S 1000 RRs and Triumph Trophys.

BMW is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 S 1000 RR motorcycles manufactured September 2011, through December 2012. Due to a manufacturing fault, the side-stand attachment bolts could start to loosen. The loosening of the side-stand bolts could cause the stand to separate from the frame of the motorcycle.

NHSTA.gov is a handy online resource to check on motorcycle and equipment recalls.
